Let me tell you that SP Balasubramanian was cremated in Chennai. Balasubramanian’s last rites were performed with full police honors. The famous Bollywood singer died last Friday at a hospital in Chennai, SP. He was 74 years old and had been undergoing treatment for Kovid-19 for about 52 days.
His body was taken to the farmhouse before the funeral
The mortal remains of the SP were taken by van to their Red Hills farmhouse at Thamaraipakkam in Tiruvallur district on Friday evening. During this time the fans chased the van. He had to slow down the van to get his last visit to the SP. Earlier, SP’s family members bid him farewell at the Nangambakkam residence.
Director Bharathiraja joined the funeral
Veteran director Bharathiraja attended the funeral of SP. Earlier on Friday evening, he was also seen in the hospital where the SP breathed his last. Singer Mano and actor Vijay also arrived at the funeral of SP in Chennai.
Sang more than 40 thousand songs in career
SP has sung over 40,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam in his 50-year long singing career. The SP sang 21 songs for Kannada composer Upendra Kumar in 12 hours. For this reason, his name is also recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. At one time the SPs recorded 16–17 songs a day in several languages. Many times he sang songs continuously for 17 hours.
Salman became the voice of Bollywood
Bala was known in Bollywood as the voice of Salman Khan. For almost a decade, he sang more than one song from Salman. He received the Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer Award for the song ‘Dil Deewana‘ from ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’.
At the same time, the song ‘Didi Tera Dewar Deewana’ sung with Lata Mangeshkar in ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ is still on the tongue of the audience. Just as Kishore Kumar was once considered the voice of Rajesh Khanna, similarly Bala earned a lot of fame in Bollywood by becoming Salman’s voice.

For 15 years he braked his singing career
After a 15-year singing break, SP Balasubrahmanyam sang the title track of the Chennai Express as the singer in 2013, starring Shah Rukh Khan, the romance king and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone in the lead.
