Rishabh Pant made a big jump in ICC Test rankings: Recently, a 4-Test series has been played between India and England, in which the Indian team defeated England 3–1.

Indian batsman Rishabh Pant, who scored a century in the last Test match against England, has reached his career-best seventh position in the list of batsmen in the ICC Test rankings released here.

India’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has climbed seven places after playing a 101-run match-winning innings in the Ahmedabad Test match against England.

His best innings helped India win the series 3–1. The 23-year-old Indian has reached number seven along with compatriot Rohit Sharma and New Zealand’s Henry Nicholls.

Rohit Sharma has also gained one place. Young all-rounder Washington Sundar, who played an important role in making the Indian team in the final of the World Test Championship, has jumped 23 places.

With this, he has reached 62nd position, but Indian captain Virat Kohli and Test specialist batsman Cheteshwar Pujara could not perform favorably in this series.

The same Cheteshwar Pujara has slipped to 13th position, and for the first time since the month of September in 2016, his rating points have fallen below 700.

Off-spinner R Ashwin and left-arm spinner Axar Patel have made significant improvements in bowling rankings in the same England batsmen.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who was selected as the best player of this series, has moved to second place, leaving behind Neil Wagner of New Zealand.

He has reached this place in the year 2017 after the month of August. The same R Ashwin remains at the fourth position in the all-rounder’s rankings.

At the same, Axar Patel, who has performed well in this series, has reached the 30th position with a career-best 552 points.

After his first three Tests, only two players, former Indian spinner Narendra Hirwani 564 and Australian fast bowler Charlie Turner 553, got their higher rating points. Turner played cricket in the 19th century.
