Law on OTT: The first complaint has been filed by the Digital Media Ethics Code on some scenes of Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming short film ‘Ghost Stories’.

For a long time, there was no censor board and committee for the Bharti Video Streaming Platform (OTT). Therefore, many scenes were also being shown in many short films which cannot be seen with children and family.

Let us tell you that this Information Rules 2021 made by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was named as Guidelines for Intermediate and Digital Media Ethics Code.

Under which viewers can file a complaint against the Indian Video Streaming Platform (OTT). This rule has been made to remove the dirty scene being published on it by special swimming.

The team formed under this will take action against this OTT platform on registering the complaint of the user.

When was the first complaint made through the Indian OTT platform?

The first complaint of the Indian OTT platform was made against Netflix India. A complaint was filed with Netflix India for the short Hindi-language anthology horror film Ghost Stories 2020 made in Heaven by Anurag Kashyap.

In this, a complaint was lodged against actress Sobhita Dhulipala. There was a scene in this short film in which the actress eats her own fetus after having a miscarriage.

And if the makers want to add a scene like this, it should have been a trigger warning for women who have suffered from the trauma of miscarriage.

How much time will the complaint be resolved against the OTT platform?

As per the Guide Lines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code 2021 on the complaint made by the user on the Indian Video Streaming Platform, the Oat Platform will have to take action within 24 hours.
