Chennai captain Dhoni says that the partnership of Dwayne Bravo and Ruturaj Gaikwad helped Chennai Super Kings to reach a good score.
Young batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad, who came out to open for Chennai, remained at the crease till the end. Dhoni said that I think we had already lost 4 wickets before the score of 30 but we wanted something respectable on the board and our batsmen Ruturaj Gaikwad and Bravo did what we expected.
During that time we might have had to bat exceptionally to reach 140 but we got close to 160 which was excellent. This wicket was a bit fast-paced but a bit slow in the beginning.
Our batsmen lost some wickets due to the slow pace. Our batsman Rayudu got injured so it was very difficult to come back from there but our batsmen batted in partnership and finished very well.
Ambati Rayudu retired after scoring 0 runs after playing just 3 balls, he was injured. Dhoni said that Rayudu was smiling a lot in the change room, so Dhoni believes that his injury is not a factor. Now after this Chennai Super Kings will face Royal Challengers Bangalore on 24 September.
