Fast & Furious 9 – 

Fast & Furious 9, also known as F9, is an upcoming American action-adventure movie. This is the ninth film of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise. It is directed by Justin Lin and the story is written by Daniel Casey.

It is a sequel to The Fate of the Furious (2017). This is the first franchise film since 2003 to be written by a writer other than Chris Morgan.

It stars heroes and heroines such as Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.

The film was to be released in 2020 but due to Covid-19, it will now be released in 2021.

Fast & Furious 9 – Official Trailer

The official trailer of F9 was released on 31 January 2019. Dom and his younger brother come face to face in the film in London. Of course, the trailer featured various vehicles that would also appear in the film, from a tractor-trailer to a magnetic plane to even a rocket car.

The final part of the trailer also marks the return of everyone’s favorite character Han Lue, while he was apparently killed in Fast and Furious 6 / Tokyo Drift.

Fast & Furious 9 – Production

It follows the story of The Fate of the Furious, when Dom is living a peaceful life with his wife Letty and baby Brian.

Then Dom’s younger brother Jacob, who has a personal vendetta against him since childhood, stands up against Dom.

Jacob, along with his old enemy Cipher, tries to kill Dom and his own family.

Filming

The main photography of the film began on 24 June 2019 at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire (England). Much of it was shot in Los Angeles, Edinburgh, and London. It is the first franchise film to be shot at locations such as Thailand, Krabi, Ko Pha-ngan, and Phuket.

Its shooting ended on 11 November 2019. Stuntman Joe Watts, who did a stunt for Vin Diesel at Leavesden Studios, suffered a serious head injury in July 2019.

Music

F9’s official soundtrack will be released along with the film but its mixtape was released on 31 July 2020 under the title ‘Road to F9’.

Release date

F9 was first announced by Universal Pictures on 22 May 2020 to be released in theaters but in the meantime, it was canceled due to a global pandemic like Covid-19.

Now if everything goes well in the future, the film has been announced to be released on 2 April 2021.

Sequel

The release of Fast and Furious 10, the last film of the Fast & Furious franchise of ‘The Fast Saga’, has been announced long back. It will be released on 1 April 2022. This will be the franchise’s last film. It will be a sequel to Fast & Furious 9.
It marks the return of Lin as director.

According to Vin Diesel, the film can be divided into two parts and serve as a closing trilogy with F9. Diesel also revealed earlier this year that he was reviewing the script for a possible female spin-off following the end of Fast Saga.

Fast & Furious 9 – Cast & Crew

It marks the return of almost all the characters from the previous film such as Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.

Jordana Brewster in Mia Toretto’s character will be seen in F9 for the first time since 2015’s Furious 7.

There is also the return of everyone’s favorite and ever-hungry character Han Lue (Sung Kang), who was killed by the so-called Deckard Shaw.

The franchise will also feature first-time WWE champion and legendary wrestler John Cena as Dom and Mia’s younger brother Jacob. Cipher forces Jacob to kill his family.

The film will also feature Bow Wow and Jason Tobin, who portrayed charisma in Tokyo Drift as Twinkie and Earl Hu respectively.
